Genius hour is a movement that allows students to explore their own passions and encourages creativity in the classroom. Time is set aside each week to allow students an opportunity to choose what they learn. These projects are tied to the school curriculum. |

Kelvin Doe15-Year-Old Kelvin Doe is an engineering whiz living in Sierra Leone who scours the trash bins for spare parts, which he uses to build batteries, generators and transmitters. Completely self-taught, Kelvin has created his own radio station where he broadcasts news and plays music under the moniker, DJ Focus.

Debbie Sterling is an engineer and founder of GoldieBlox, a toy company out to inspire the next generation of female engineers. She has made it her mission in life to tackle the gender gap in science, technology, engineering and math.
