Relative Pronouns
We know that PRONOUNS are words that take the place of a noun. Watch the video below and think about how you would explain what relative and interrogative pronouns are.
It can be hard to decide which relative pronoun to use in a sentence.
WHO is used for people. If you are referring to a person, use who.
WHICH and THAT refer to groups of things.
THAT is used to introduce a restrictive clause, which adds information that is not essential to the meaning.
WHICH is used to introduce a non-restrictive clause, adding information which is essential to the meaning.
